O/s the classroom

You are unlikely to have a job that is strictly 0900 – 1800.

Most graduate careers in business or commerce include overtime: working at home – usually unpaid – but nevertheless expected by your employer.

Here at university many of you have little more than half the working week in class – but you are required and expected to do as much studying outside the class as in it i.e. you do a full working week like the rest of the working world.

If you are asked to brainstorm something before the next class / to read a chapter / to research online etc, then you DO it: we expect you to bring things to class: thoughts, ideas, knowledge, facts, so that we can work with them together.

There is no excuse for not doing this, and individuals repeatedly failing to contribute such things and resting on the hard work of their colleagues will be excluded from class as they are incapable of learning or contributing there.
