Bye-Bye Bowie (et.al.)
If you are British and in your 50s especially, you are probably in shock about now as, suddenly, we are losing the Great and the Good, the heroes in the generation just above, at an unconscionable rate. The Beatles are at half strength, Joe Cocker is now ‘up there where he belongs‘, Cilla Black (think the British equivalent of Mireille Mathieu ) a singer contemporary of the Beatles who then became a famous TV presenter has left us, now Bowie and the irreplaceable and universally-adored Sir Terry Wogan have been carried off by cancer and left huge holes in the fabric of our present and future.
