Why does Culture matter to Tourism?

Well, it does matter pretty fundamentally…. Culture can be the reason that drives us to seek new experiences and to travel and cultural antagonism may be the reason why we don’t sometimes enjoy the experience (See ‘Doxey’s Irridex’ model). To Marketeers the lure of  ‘Culture’ can be a particularly strong tool to attract tourists. Tourism is a global industry: working in it inevitably involves having to deal with and work alongside people from many different cultures who think and work in very different ways.
