If we have the time – we can relax and discuss other issues these in English…..

These subjects have been drawn from suggestions by previous CENPROFDOC groups – you may want to change / add to them.

1. Cultural differentiation.  What is it?  How different are we?  How easy is it to move from one culture to another: go native or fight to stay the same? Are cultures only national/regional?  How do we recoignise ‘culture’.  Should we recognise cultures (which are really just averages) or should we focus upon individuals instead?
2. Social Networks & Internet.  Seeming v being.  Image v reality.   Does it matter?
3. Children.  Ease of online access and lack of control.  Good / bad?  What to do with our/your kids, regarding ICT access?
4. Diffusion  and adoption.  How is the knowledge of innovations disseminated?  Why are some people inclined to take up such innovation and others not?
5. Short-termism in society and decision-making – where is it leading us?  What is stopping us taking a longer term perspective?
6. How and to what extent can the media influence behaviour for good and ill?
7. For all the miracles of technological innovation…. are we actually any happier as a result?
