R. TOEIC-Test Yourself!

Well there are a number of sites, but let’s go with the best:

http://www.english-test.net/toeic/

http://www.englishteststore.net

We are now getting to the stage where  I have tried to put you in any amount of situations which can help you develop your confidence, rehearse, improve your vocabulary, but now we are getting down  to the ‘nitty-gritty’ so we need to focus on TOEIC exam-specific exercises as much as we can.   Don’t worry, I’ll try to ‘ring the changes’ as much as I can so you don’t get bored, but sometimes it is a case of ‘nose to the grindstone’….   [Yes, and these ARE the sorts of phrases that TOEIC will expect you to know!!!].

You already know about these from our ‘English Things’ exercise at the beginning of the academic year, but I recognise that many of you have not been finding the time to engage with such helpful materials while you are up to your necks in Engineering-related projects and assignments…. so we will do some of these in class for a while.  Those of you who know that your marks are regularly well under 16/20  (approximately the TOEIC 750pass  level)  should still be doing work at home on these.  Most of the exercises take less than 10 minutes but you can equally do a full, 2-hour TOEIC on the first of the two sites above should you so wish.  The second site has all the components of the TOEIC test, but separately.  DO use them to your own advantage: frequently.  The earlier you can get your TOEIC ‘out of the way’, the better.

‘A TOEIC  Test a Day helps you work, rest and play’…to mis-quote a Mars advert of the 1970s!
