Block 2: Guardian, Gatekeeper and Guide

Now here's a different form of 3G:

Ever thought of your awesome responsibilities in these terms:

'… selecting, recording, preserving communicating and interpreting events which will be considered 'history' by the citizens of Tomorrow.  In this sense you are guardian, gatekeeper and guide to future generations through the annals and archives of your documentation collection…'

INSTRUCTION.

In pairs or teams of three, produce a 'THINKPIECE' along the above lines to be included in the DOC course handbook for the benefit of future students.  This is your opportunity to 'speak' to them: to create a 'document' that may have impact and create considerable interest.

Produce this in English.  2/3 pages of A4 maximum.

1. the aim is to get students thinking, interested
2. the language should be short sentences / hard-hitting points / simple structure.
3. do do some research – include quotations (attributing them!) and images where possible: case study material

Be prepared to hand this in to me in hard copy at the end of the block and also to present and discuss your ideas with the rest of the group.
